The acquisition of seven Santander Bank branches by Community Bank will be completed over the weekend of November 7-9, 2025, converting most accounts associated with those branches to Community Bank accounts. Please reference the letter packet you received for specific account details.
Branch hours will remain the same after the conversion. The seven Santander Bank branches will close at 12 p.m. on November 7. The ATMs at these locations will be unavailable beginning at 8 a.m. through conversion weekend.
Your account number(s) will remain the same unless you are otherwise notified.
Community Bank will issue new checks for all checking accounts, money markets, and home equity lines of credit prior to conversion weekend.
- Please continue to use your existing Santander checks prior to conversion weekend. After that, switch to your Community Bank checks.
- Business customers will receive a separate communication for ordering new Community Bank checks.
- If you use checks on an Overdraft Line of Credit or a Business Line of Credit, please contact your local branch after conversion weekend.
- Please note that any checks written from your Santander Bank account presented for payment after January 2, 2026, will be returned.
Personal online banking is free with all Community Bank checking accounts. Bill Pay is free with Community Bank’s Carefree Checking℠, 50 Direct Checking, and Premium Checking accounts. If you already have these services with Santander Bank, you should have received a separate letter with more information, including login instructions.
Mobile banking and mobile deposit are free with every personal Community Bank account. If you currently use Santander Bank mobile banking, you will need to re-establish it with Community Bank. Simply activate your account by logging in to our online banking anytime after the conversion, then download our mobile app (CBNA Mobile Banking) for iPhone or Android smartphones.
If you’re not currently using mobile banking and would like to start, simply download our mobile app (CBNA Mobile Banking) for iPhone or Android smartphones anytime after the conversion.
Similarly, you will also need to re-establish mobile deposit once enrolled in CBNA Mobile Banking. Simply click on “Deposits” within Mobile Banking to select which accounts you wish to enroll in mobile deposit.
If you’d like to use Community Bank’s telephone banking, simply call 800-991-4280 anytime after the conversion. You’ll be asked to enter the last four digits of your social security number and your account number as identification. Then you’ll select a secure PIN.
Please see the product sections of this site for details on your statement(s). Santander Bank will mail a final printed statement for all converted accounts through the acquisition date. Be advised, personal account statement cycles may change at conversion but will cycle no later than December 7, 2025. Business account statements will cycle at the end of the month. Please note: If you currently receive eStatements, your past eStatements will not be converted. Be sure to download and save your most recent statement(s) just prior to conversion weekend. You’ll be prompted to re-enroll for eStatements the first time you log in. eStatements are free through Community Bank online banking.
If you have a combined statement for any accounts, including your Overdraft Line of Credit, they will convert into separate statements. If you’d like to re-establish or set up a combined statement, please contact our Customer Care Center at 877-764-8638 or reach out to one of our branches after the conversion.
The Community Bank availability of funds policy may differ from Santander Bank. Please refer to the Disclosure Booklet mailed to you for details.
Your existing Santander Bank Debit Mastercard will be deactivated prior to conversion weekend.
You’ll receive your new CBNA Visa® Debit Card and personal identification number (PIN) in separate mailings before conversion weekend, you can activate your card through telephone banking, online or mobile banking, or with a PIN-based transaction.
After the conversion, you may also change your PIN when you activate your new card at any Community Bank ATM or through telephone banking.
Please plan ahead for your cash and payment needs during this transition period.
If your payroll, government, or other check is deposited directly into your account, this will need to be updated after conversion weekend. For both new and existing direct deposits, you will need to provide our routing and transit number: 021307559. After conversion weekend, log in to your online or mobile banking account, select “Set Up Direct Deposit” on the dashboard, and follow the instructions or visit the Direct Deposit page on our website for alternative signup methods.
Please note: All direct deposits must be updated prior to February 6, 2026, to ensure you continue to receive your deposits on the scheduled date.
Payments set up to auto-deduct from your account will need to be updated after conversion weekend. For both new and existing payments, you will need to provide our routing and transit number: 021307559.
If you have payments scheduled with your debit card, please be sure to contact the vendor to provide your new debit card details.

If you currently have an overdraft protection line of credit or have other bank accounts that automatically protect your checking account from overdrafts, they will automatically convert.
Please note, for customers with multiple overdraft funding sources: After conversion, overdraft lines of credit (if applicable) will be used first. Any additional enrolled overdraft protection accounts will be accessed next, in order of account number, starting with the account that has the lowest numerical value. Please refer to the Disclosure Booklet mailed to you for additional details.
Community Bank offers both automated and non-automated overdraft protection programs to our customers. These programs differ from those offered by Santander Bank. Please refer to the Disclosure Booklet mailed to you for additional details.
Your deposits will continue to be FDIC insured up to the maximum amount allowed by law. If you currently have deposits with the same ownership title(s) at both Santander Bank and Community Bank, your deposits will continue to be insured separately for a period of six months after the acquisition. After that, those deposit amounts will be combined to determine the amount of your FDIC coverage. Learn more about FDIC insurance for certificates of deposit (CDs) here.
After conversion, outgoing wire transfers can be initiated by visiting your local Community Bank branch.
If you currently use cash management services, you’ll receive a separate letter detailing how your services will be converted. Our full suite of cash management services includes cash and loan sweeps, automated clearing house (ACH) services, lockbox, remote deposit capture, account reconciliation, zero balance accounts, positive pay fraud protection, and online wire transfers.
Night deposit services will be offered by Community Bank. Please contact your branch after conversion if you would like to use this service.
At year-end, Santander and Community Bank will separately send you any reportable tax information for 2025. Santander will provide reportable tax information through November 7, 2025, and Community Bank will provide reportable tax information from November 8 forward.
