Community Bank Named Best Bank in Vermont

Burlington, V.T. — Community Bank is pleased to announce that it has been named Best Bank Statewide by Vermont Business Magazine. In addition to being named Best Bank Statewide, they were also named Best Bank Chittenden County. Selected by readers, the 2024 Best of Business (BOB) Awards (BOB Award) celebrate the best Vermont companies in more than 100 business-to-business categories.

Vermont Business Magazine surveyed its readers to ask who they trust to provide services in more than 100 categories, including banking. The publication has spent over 50 years forging close relationships with Vermont's business community, and the BOB Awards provide an opportunity for them to be recognized for their products and services. The results of the BOB Awards speak to common traits among standout businesses in Vermont: best-in-class customer service and a willingness to go above and beyond.

“We put people first, which is why we’re proud to be voted Best Bank Statewide and Best Bank in Chittenden County by readers of Vermont Business Magazine,” Regional President Matt Durkee said. “To be recognized by our business-minded community for our commitment to outstanding customer service is an honor, and we are thrilled to share this recognition with our team and customers.”

Throughout its more than 155-year history, Community Bank has remained committed to a community-focused approach that puts its neighbors and customers first. Giving back is embedded in its culture, from executive management and the board of directors down to branch team members. Community Bank’s motto is “Bank Happy,” and it’s the bank’s ongoing community involvement that brings the motto to life.

Community Bank’s philanthropic activity is not limited to monetary donations. On any given day, you’ll find employees rolling up their sleeves to help their communities in need, from financial assistance, participation in local fundraising, and other events serving those most in need through volunteerism with local food pantries, mental health facilities, and domestic violence agencies, to supporting organizations aiding with the 2023 flooding. In 2023, Vermont Community Bank employees reported over 1,000 community service hours and the branches provided over $400,000 in donations, sponsorships, and grants to organizations, including Special Olympics Vermont, The DREAM Program, Vermont Main Street Recovery Fund, Burlington Hope Lodge, and Dragonheart Vermont. These hours and dollars go directly to local initiatives that enhance the places where the bank’s customers live, work, and play.
