ABA Foundation awards Community Bank for volunteerism
There’s a very good reason why our name starts with “Community.” It’s because of our commitment to the places we call home, to our neighbors and loved ones, and to those who believe in making it better. Through our community development program, we make sure we’re giving back in meaningful ways to those who need it most.
That’s why we’re honored to be recognized for those efforts with the American Bankers Association Foundation’s Community Commitment Award. The real honor, of course, comes from serving our communities. In 2023, we broke records for volunteerism and philanthropic investments across our 200+ branches, including:
- 500+ bank employees serving on nonprofit boards and committees
- 16,000+ volunteer hours
- 2,100+ organizations supported
- 5,600+ food items collected for 100+ food banks
- $3.7 million contributed in donations, grants, and sponsorships
Maureen Gillan-Myer, our Chief Human Resource & Administration Officer, said it best: “Giving back to our community is embedded in our culture. Our team collectively strives to make a measurable impact on the communities we serve through more than just financial means, and we’re honored to see those efforts recognized by the ABA Foundation.”
Thank you to everyone who participated in our charitable efforts and to the ABA Foundation for the honor!
