Community Bank Branches Promote Kindness Through Random Acts

Community Bank branches across New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts marked National Random Acts of Kindness Day this year by bringing extra cheer to neighbors. During the week of February 17, Community Bank team members across our more than 230 branches performed kind acts, like buying morning coffee for their neighbors, handing out flowers to strangers on the street and giving sweet treats to customers.

The goal of the celebration was to promote kindness and provide inspiration by brightening someone’s day in the hope that they would then pass it on.

“There’s nothing more important to our branches than being a positive force in our community,” Community Bank Senior Vice President of Retail Banking and Marketing Hal Wentworth said. “Being a good neighbor means supporting your fellow community members and lifting each other up. One act of kindness can go such a long way.”

This is the fourth consecutive year Community Bank has held a bank-wide initiative to celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day.

“Our team really looks forward to celebrating this event every year and spreading goodwill throughout the community,” Wentworth said. “There’s really nothing better than being able to bring joy into someone’s life—no matter how simple the act.”

National Random Acts of Kindness Day was established by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and is observed in the United States each year on February 17. It’s celebrated by individuals, groups and organizations nationwide to encourage acts of kindness and make the world a better place.
