How do you determine exchange rates for foreign transactions?

The exchange rate for international debit card purchases is set by Visa® International. This rate of exchange is either the wholesale market rate or a government-mandated rate on the day before the date the transaction is processed.

We suggest that customers use Visa's Foreign Currency Exchange Rates calculator that will give the customer an indication of the rate they may expect to receive.
