How does the chip work?
A chip card is a standard-size plastic card that contains an embedded microchip as well as a traditional magnetic stripe. The chip encrypts information to increase data security when making transactions at stores, terminals, or ATMs.
The chip is embedded in the front of your debit card. Just like the magnetic stripe, the chip contains information about the account(s) associated with the card.
